Insta-Florida

It’s pretty amazing how easily, with the luck of a problem-free flight, that you can find yourself in a tropical location that is the complete opposite of your Brooklyn existence.  Speaking of instant paradise, here’s a bunch of Instagram shots I took while on a mini-vacay to the Florida Gulf Coast.

If you’re on Instagram, find my handle, “polymicrospasm” on the app.

Creepy Burger

From Second Avenue, NYC.

Final Meal

If I had to choose one meal until I died, this would be it: Dill Pickles, Greek Olives, Chorizo Secco, Prosciutto di Parma wrapped cantaloupe, nutmeggy Mortadella and Havarti Cheese with German Tomy mustard.

Animated Love

Happy Valentine’s Day from Greenpoint’s very own Three Decker Restaurant.

Scenes From A Salad

Even when I’m making salad for our weekday lunches, I am looking for abstract textures and patterns. Here we have a sliced orange bell pepper.

Grape Flavored Apples

Fake grape flavor inside real Fuji apples: now available at Met Foods on Driggs Avenue.

Rejoice.

Beer Sticker Bombing

I thought this advertisement for beers at the bodega at Nassau & McGuinness was reflective of all the street art stickers that get slapped up onto signs.

Mmmmmm Shanghai

From Grand Street, Brooklyn.

Old School Diner

Happened upon this gem of a food estblishment while walking past Rust Street in Maspeth, Queens. Looks like it belongs in a movie, eh?

The Clinton Diner & Bar actually did make a cameo appearence in none other than the original Goodfellas classic, as seen in some screen captures below:
