Translucent Effort

I found two very cool, very different videos online today that deal with high technology, low technology and innovation with a controlled color palette that are both worth checking out.

From a train station in Osaka, Japan, I bring you the water dot matrix printer.  This is beautiful.  (Via)

From artist, Johan Rijpma, a tediously made stop motion film using rolls of scotch tape.  Also, quite beautiful.  (Via)

  1. the scotch tape one is neat. i assume that those are real reels time-lapsedly detaping? i like the sound – the tape coming off the reel.

the water matrix printer one is okay, but i found the on and off sound of cascading water to be less than bearable. like turning on and off a waterfall?
